Reflecting on an Incredible Year for Gen A Consultancy

As the year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible milestones, partnerships and experiences that shaped 2024 for Gen A Consultancy. It has been a transformative year, marked by growth, innovation and meaningful connections. Here are some of the highlights that made this year so special:

Major Milestones and Launches

Back in February, we unveiled our brand-new website, welcoming African Leadership Global (ALG), the new joint venture between Strong Enterprises and Gen A Consultancy, to the world stage. The website is now a dynamic hub for sharing our work and engaging with our community.

One of our proudest achievements has been establishing ALG’s research methodology and delivering the accompanying training to all our teams in Africa. This initiative has equipped us with the tools to better analyse and understand complex data while fostering a culture of informed decision-making.

Furthermore, our ‘Stories of African Leadership’ project led to the publication of a comprehensive Business Report, which is a testament to our evolving research capabilities and the robust methodology we have built over the year. October saw the much-anticipated launch of African Leadership Global simultaneously in Kenya and the UK.

Empowering Communities and Partnerships

It was an honour to be invited by Athena FundX, managed by Angie Madara, to display African Leadership Global at the Her Market event in London. Events like these continue to affirm our role in championing African leaders and innovators.

Infact, our relationship with Kenya has blossomed into something truly special. From collaborating with Kate Krukiel, who has been a valuable advisor to us throughout the year and having CIO Africa by dx5 launch ALG across Africa, we are excited about the potential of these connections to drive positive change.

In addition, this year marked our second year of supporting the Solaris Rising Stars programme, working alongside early-career female leaders of African and Caribbean heritage. We have also been leading the Solaris’ Quest Programme, which supports their Alumni looking to start side hustles. Witnessing the passion and innovation of these women has been a deeply rewarding experience.

As a delivery partner for the START programme here in the South-west of England, we facilitated entrepreneurial workshops for five cohorts, totalling close to 150 Techpreneurs. Empowering aspiring entrepreneurs from marginalised backgrounds to take their first steps in developing impactful, purpose-driven businesses has been a core part of our mission this year.

We are also thrilled to have entered into a strategic partnership with The Studio, a Research and Enterprise hub in Bath, where we are serving as their Strategic Partnerships consultant. Together, we are building exciting new opportunities for collaboration and growth for their Residents.

Sharing Stories and Amplifying Voices

We organised and hosted two storytelling events in Weston-super-Mare and Bristol. These gatherings highlighted the power of shared narratives and the connections they foster within our communities.

Our work at ALG caught the attention of BBC Radio Bristol and Ujima Radio, where we were interviewed about our journey and impact. Sharing our story on these platforms has been a fantastic opportunity to reach new audiences.

This year, we also launched the ‘Become a Smarter Learner’ podcast in partnership with Dr. Emma Pauncefort. Exploring the art and science of learning has been a fascinating venture, and we are thrilled with the positive reception so far.

It was also an honour to speak at the ‘Balancing Acts: Navigating Belonging & Inclusion’ webinar run by the amazing Nick Elston. Conversations like these are essential for creating more inclusive and understanding workplaces and communities.

Personal Triumphs and Joys

On a personal level, 2024 was a year filled with growth, joy and unforgettable moments.

I had the privilege of playing in the summer league for Nailsea Lawn Tennis Club. Not only did our team win the division and move up the ladder, but I was also crowned the Ladies Doubles Champion for 2024. It has been a rewarding journey of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Another one of the most profound personal highlights was being a bridesmaid at my dear friend, Samy’s wedding in Punta Cana. Five days of sun, blue waters, white sand, and dancing under the moonlight brought moments of pure joy and connection with friends old and new. The ceremony included a deeply moving meditation that allowed me to let go of my father, my biggest champion, honouring his memory while finally accepting his absence. This experience was a powerful reminder of the importance of slowing down, reconnecting with loved ones and embracing life’s beauty.

So, as we close the chapter on 2024, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible people, partnerships and opportunities that shaped this year. From launching new initiatives to deepening relationships with communities across the globe, Gen A Consultancy has grown in ways that make me a proud CEO who is excited for the future.

Here’s to 2025 and all the possibilities it holds - let us continue to innovate, inspire and make a difference together.

Thank you for being a part of our journey.

Wishing you all a wonderful festive season and a bright start to 2025.

To your success!
